IIRC it's a 4.25. I've got a 150 on mine, the 160 clearance seems to vary with brand.

 

Hey there, what's the rim size on the rear for a DRZ400SM??? I though it was 4.5 but someone at the dealership is telling me it's 4.25...Since I'm running a 160 with no problem, I'm a bit confused!!!

As far as I know it's 4.5"..

i always saw 4.5 listed on the specs in articals.

 

I just had new tires mounted on mine if memory serves me correctly the rim is marked 4.5.

 

my says 17 x 4.25" on the rim, could there be a difference between the Euro and America market ?! :headscrat

i can confirm the the wheels are 4.25 rear and 3.5 front. i read this off the rim stamp. and as for the magazine listing the rim as a 4.5 they also stated it has a two into one pipe

 

4.25", 4.5"; the difference is minimal. I have a 4.25, 4.5, and a 5.0 on my 3 bikes-all run Pirelli Super Corsa 160 tires. If you were to back to back compare on the different sizes on the same bike, you might feel a difference, but I doubt it.

Just ride it hard and you will be happy. :thumbup:
