Trouble fitting up Warp 9 wheels and ebc 320mm rotor on my '02 WR426.....

Hoping to get some help on this. Did some searching and I couldn't find anyone else having this issue nor could I find a close up photo of a similar mounted front wheel.

The back mounted up with lots of cussin' but it fits. I've been spoiled having a single sided swing arm on my race bike.

On the front, no way no how is the stock WR426 caliper slipping between the brake rotor and the wheel. I had my brother struggle with it also and he couldn't get it to go. It also looks like the gold ebc caliper mount will not work either. I had the black Warp 9 caliper adaptor and that looks like it will fit up.

Is the YZ4XX front brake caliper different? I could make it fit by grinding the reinforcement/casting ribs on the caliper and maybe removing a mm or so off the brake pad backing but I'd rather do this right.

much thanks for any guidance, Scott

Thanks for the tips. I'm not in front of the bike but I'll see about removing the pads. Haven't had to do this on any other bike (my Ducati runs 320mm rotors also) but there's always a first.

This is how I did mine the 1st time because I as well have never had issues with brake clearance on a sportbike, let alone a dirtbike in the past.

Take the brake pads out like mentioned above and it should fit right on. Install the pads and then work the bracket into place. YZ and WR forks are the same, just valved differently.
This is the right way, and quite a faster as well. if you pull both pads, the caliper EASILY can be manuvered between the rim and the rotor.

Yup pull the pads. When I got my wheels I fought it for a while and was getting super pissed. Then I slowed down some and just looked at everything really close to see where it is hitting.

Also the EBC or Warp9 caliper mount spacer should work just fine. I've run both on my WR400, and both worked the same...Although the Warp9 one fadded after only a couple of rides. I think the heat messed with the anodizing. And I think my wheels are doing the same...

lol I had to figure this out for the first time, too just recently when installing my rotor kit for the first time on my sumo wheels.

I just had to remove one of the pads to get the wheel/rotor to slide into place in the caliper. Then slid the pad back into place, re-installed the pad bolt and i was done. Couldn't believe how easy it was to do it that way. lol
