Is there an actual 690 SMC owner's manual? I've pulled it down from the KTM-USA website, but after I get it, it's the enduro version. Has most everything, but not specifics for the SMC like tire pressure, suspension adjustments etc.

Also I can't find a CD-ROM repair manual on any of the websites either (munns, KTM-parts, etc). They only LC4 repair manual I see is the '07 SM.

The KTM service manuals are very difficult to get. I got one for my RXC through some second rate online place that sent me a frickin' photocopied manual. Apparently they have some sort of agreement with KTM to provide these copies of copies of copies. The image quality is horrible.

Depends on when you got it? I got one for my 625 and it was a 1st rate photo copy. It was a photo copy none the less but when your father-in-law drops your OEM manual, notes and receipts off at good will, what else is there? I have tried to order the stuff from KTM dealers, no go!

The photos in mine that I got a month and a half ago are crystal clear. FWIW

SMC Service CD

I have an 08 690 SMC and I cant locate a Service CD for that bike and
neither can my dealer. I just called KTM NA and they were trying to
figure out what the deal is. They said they would call back (we'll see).

They should have the 08/09 SMC/Enduro service CD as a combined part.
Right now there is nothing available for the 690s with the subframe/gas tank.

Please speak up if you know different
Thanks
Tim

Not sure what exactly your asking.....I turn my motor over by putting the bike in top gear and rotating the tire over by hand in the direction of travel.

Ah! I see, yes put her in 5th or 6th and move the back tire.

I picked up a service manual for an '07 690. The local shop said its all the same for the motor, obviously the other components are different.

But it doesn't provide much detail at all as far as steps to follow to check valves(or anything else). It shows you how to take apart and put back together, but no walk through like other service manuals have.

Service Manuals

I tried downloading several manuals that are close to my 05 625smc but finally found a real 2005 625 SMC manual for sale on E-Bay for 10 bucks and bought it.
I have not looked for the cd version and have not talked with anyone who could recomend it either.
Good luck on your quest, but the specific SMC manuals are harder to find it seems.:headscrat

doubt it, seems like they closely monitor recent service manuals that are put online so they can take them down.

you'll have to look long and hard, search forums, you might get lucky and find one that hasn't been taken down yet.

FYI, the service manual cd off ktmcyclehutt or other site sponsor sites is like 25 bucks, without member discount. usually the info for rebuilding and maintaining the suspension is included. might be worth coughing up the money.

How about sharing the content of your CD?
