Anybody ever remove the air box from their XR650r and run a slip on cone type filter?
I only run my bike on the street “supermoto” so I’m not concerned about dirt.
Can any one see any problems with running the xr650r this way?

Please dont post the same thing more than once, and in more than one forum.

I run a very modified motor and an FCR carb so jetting is nothing I can tell you that would be usefull. I will say it works good of the bike I did it to don't think I would bother on my other bike though.

Sounds like someone may have a 680 overbore+cams+++...

I wouldn't consider removing the airbox either (it definitely flows well uncorked & w/side panel cutout), but that shiny new Ohlins with all her pretty colours & fine machined parts is harder to resist than a Montreal stripper, er, "dancer"... :D

BTW, I may be pestering you later this season to find out more about those engine mods.... :infrandom

Thanks,
Mark
