from the press release:

FMX650
The new FMX650 is a dual sport model featuring an air-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder, 650cc engine and super motard styling. With fun motoring as its design concept, the FMX650 is equally at home in the city or out on the highway. Starting in spring 2005, the FMX650 will be released in a wide range of European markets. The FMX650 is manufactured by Honda affiliate Montesa Honda S.A. of Spain, and annual European sales are projected to reach 7,000 units.

Man, everyones putting undertail exhausts on every bike now! I like alot, but they need to work on the look of it for some. I think these are a little too big for the displacement of this bike

It's an over-weight, under-powered piece of shit - you don't want it anyway :D

Absofeckinlootly.......why did the idiots bring it out when they have the CRF450X and the XR650R to base motos on???? a change of wheels and brakes...bobs your uncle, a 450sm and a 650sm, both with Honda reliability and a bit of go in them....unlike the afore mentioned "dommie" engined, heavy...need i go on. It is like bringing out an 2005 XR600 sm, before you XR6 owners start spitting on me..i have one..why bring out a bike based on really old tech when you have proven tech which is way more current? Grrrrrrrr, i emailed Honda my views and they said "we will forward your thoughts on to the relevent department" Bin me thinks :D Rant over.

apples and oranges. like keith said, it's not called a supermoto. if you want reliability and comfort and don't care about performance get the honda. its a bitchin bike, just not a supermoto. think of it as a klr with 17's, comfy city bike. if you want go-fast (like us) get a ktm/husky. you wouldn't want to tour europe on a husky 450, but i'd take that honda all over the damm place (just not to the track).

it's a heavy piece of shit for a supermoto, it's a nice all around scoot though...wouldn't trade my wr, or xr for it

And it's not SO bad, I mean it is kind of like the DRZ SM's older, fatter brother. That being said, I think it is a pretty nice looking dual sport and if I was in the market for a DS I would have no problem considering it--much nicer than a KLR in my opinion.

Man I am jealous of you guys who do not need cars. I put about 2-3000 miles on my car and most of time it was going to and from the track. I live in NY so it gets real cold in the winter, I don't have to drive though since I live in NYC, having a car here is like death! It just plain old sucks unless you want to pay 450 a month for parking. I did do 10,000 on my bike this year so I am still riding my bike more which is good but damn do I hate the winter!! :2hard
