So, I currently ride a 125, (uk laws) and I have just passed my theory test, now only mod 1 and 2 to go, but, what supermoto to get at the end? I have come from a motocross background, so I prefer a supermoto over super sports, I have researched and have brought it down to two bikes, the ktm 690 smcr or the Ktm 500 exc, with some mods to make it road legal, it will be used for commuting and generally pusssing around with my friends (so it has to survive a few drops) I'm no squid either, I understand a bike will only go as fast as I use the throttle, so stepping up to a large cc is not a worry, anyway as this is my first thread, hello (sorry for bad spelling/ grammar I am on my phone)

500 is a lot more of a dirt bike per say than the 690 is. That being said I personally feel the 500 would take a little more off road thrashing than the 690. Either one is a sweet ride though and wouldn't disappoint!
