Hi guys. New around here. So i’ve been riding a 125cc “supermoto” and although i can say it is a good bike , it really isn’t a real supermoto. Next spring i am looking to upgrade and i really don’t know what i should be looking at, as i will use it as a daily commuter and don’t really like the 10-15 hr oil changes. I am also looking for a lighterish bike... My fav is the 525 exc-r from ktm but those oil changes will kill my budget. I was looking at the husqy 701 supermoto, as it uses kms and the oil changes are at about 3000-5000 kms. I am looking at about 1000-1500 kms every month. Any other suggestions that might fit my needs?

DRZ400sm but more of a Dinosaur compared to what's out there 2012 / 2013 pre flyby wire ktm 690 is my pick , if I was buying new Husky 701 . Depends on your budget .

the husky 701 is my pick but my mechanic says that it is unreliable... i really don't know what to pick. he suggested a yamaha xt660x, but it is very heavy and lowish on power compared to the other bikes...

You can buy a lot of oil for the difference in price between a KTM525 and a Husky 701.

The 701 (or 690) is the standout for your requirements in my opinion.

I don’t think 690/701 are “unreliable”.
but probably are compared to an XT660 (Which would bore me to death - but I’m not coming off a 125!!)
