We fired up the bikes on Sunday and went onto the ice. Here are a couple of new videos for your enjoyment. I'm riding my trusty KTM 525, which I use for SM track days, but the slicks are in the workshop waiting for April.
On the ice, our top speed is about 70 mph.
The first video is my homage to the Kawasaki KX500 because, man, it is powerful and fast and the rider, Mark Hitchcock, is very skilled. At one point, I mounted the camera on Mark's helmet, so I finally got to see what I look like riding out there.

This second video is sorta mesmerizing as we're just going round and round. I followed Bob Chick, who is somewhere between 50 and 60 years old. He shows me how to be smooth around the track. The ice was so good on that day. Our tires really hooked up.

I would greatly like to see your videos. Share 'em, dude. That's what this section is all about. As far as the road course goes, around here the one with the plow makes the rules, and that guy makes ovals. It's fun and my tires don't have studs on the right side anyways. Right turn = crash.

Hey CrashCrawford, yep, 2 inches of snow, that's it. I can see my lawn in spots now, too. Don't feel like basking in the sun yet, though.

We do 6 hour races here in Alberta on a minimum 6km long trck with anywhere from 40-60 corners per lap. Beats the hell out of a guy, that's for sure. The tracks for the 24 hour race are usually about 20-25 km long. Either way there is loads of variety.
The sad part is I don't have any video.

You can check out http://aeira.com/ for what we do though.
