I was wondering what you guys use to tow Your Moto out to the track.

I wanted to pick up something to use that would be uh........unusual. SO, i grabbed this. Its a 66' Dodge D200 3/4 Ton longbed. Lots of room in the bed, and even though its not an extended cab, it has more room in than my range rover. It's gonna be a fun project. :D

Very cool, I love old pick ups! I want to sell my car real bad but I can never replace it for the amount I would get for it so I have to drive it until she blows, haha.
Goodluck with the truck and update us with photos.

My truck is a 1991 Ford F-150 short bed 4x2. It is a snowbelt truck adorned with plenty of rust and three different kinds of rims. Its red paint is oxidized and faded and makes your old Dodge look like a beauty queen.

It has 180,000 miles on the original clutch and when I drive it, I live the life of an adventurer while snatchs of Sanford & Son play through my mind.

nope. 99% of the tears are from my sitting in the truck. It was all original before I bought it. 38 years old, 84000 miles. Still has the original fire extinguisher bolted to the kickpanel. The truck was sitting in a storage facility for around 22 years. Its just Sun worn mostly. Once I took possesion of the truck, I began removing all the extraneous bits n peices, then sanded the entire exterior. After that I shot it with a primer sealer. now I'll begin the planning phase which will include a nice lowering job, 4 wheel discs, DVD player for the passenger, maybe some 22" wheels (probably only 20"s), etc etc.

beautiful Tow setup you've got there!

I got the truck because originally I was going to purchase an enclosed trailer for the bikes, tools, etc. When I looked at my needs, i decided it was cheaper to just buy a truck, and have the second vehicle. With the bikes in the back, i can still use the HOV lanes here in CA which you cannot when pulling a trailer.

Thanks! I have sold the dirt bikes, but they probably wont be the last. Ive been in and out of them since I was a kid. I am new to the super moto thing though. I don't plan to race but I want something fun to blast around town on and to ride on the my favorite twisty roads. I'm tired of the boring "between sections" on a sportbike. They're just too boring on the straight sections unless your doing 'go to jail' speeds.
So, the R1 has become a track only bike, and the soon to arrive 625SMC will be the tool for occasional stress relief. I just have to find a way to make it invisble to the police. Hmmmm, I may have just jumped out of the pot and into the fire......?

Cool truck & the orange van rocks!

Here's my racebike hauler:

'97 Safari AWD - 185,000 & counting...

I can haul 2-3 bikes (1 mini) and 2 people comfortably or 1-2 bikes and 3 people with this setup.

My friends jokingly refer to it as "The Abductor" (not cool!)
