Been having tons of fun on my Xmoto.
Wondering if anyone has found a good saddle bag set up? I know the muffler is out there on the side but should be able to rig it up you think
get a set with heat resistant back. I have the rack built for the bike installed.
My tire is wore down to the cables, so was looking at getting a dirt street mix tire mostly street but a bit dirt.
Was checking out these.

I put my bike down on some gravel, and tore up my throttle grip, is it easy to take them off and replace them,
what hand guards fit on the bike?

I plan on getting the Distanzia tires when mine wear out. From the reviews I read they're quite good.

I was thinking about TKC80 also they just look mean..

I'd look at another bike for touring though.. something like the R1200R..

I think you're on the right track with the distanzia idea. When I rode up in CT with a bunch of SMs, more than half of them had them on DRZ's, 690, WR250, etc. I asked about them and when everyone said they were awesome (video of that ride: http://vimeo.com/34764862) and after a little more reading I decided that they'd be my next set. Today I wore my Pirellis down to the thread so I'm in the same boat as you and I'm going to get some distanzias this week.

Saddle bags: Giant Loop's Great Basin. Here's my bike with it on:

It literally took three minutes to put on and I didn't have to fiddle with heavy, expensive, bulky hard boxes and hardware. They are a good fit for SM bikes and are proven by round the world travelers. This guy Hans did the M56 in Russia with an Xmoto (I think) and Great Basin saddlebag: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=728074.

TKC80 is on all the BMW offroaders. I read the rear wears out fast but I think it's because the 1200 are heavier?
I plan on getting the distanzias though I think these are good tires. People say the Shinko 705 are are good to(these look like they have a deeper tread and might last longer?).

I need to save up for a touring/cruising bike to. I'm thinking about a gt1000 touring or a diavel. :D
I don't have any experience with touring or baggage but when I need to carry stuff usually helmet or laptop
(I have the biggest HP makes and it fits in there) and some gear I just use my backpack..
It is kinda unique, people tell me how cool it looks all the time and chicks dig it! :D

I'm thinking about getting this one. I've bought the iphone case before for my KLX. It works pretty well not sure about the charging system though..

Toured!

Just got back fro, a 2400km trip. 3weeks. Got that giantloop bag. Works well in combo with the BMW Rack. You can strap a good amount on there. Was able to camp for 3weeks so was loaded with climbing gear and camping stuff. The bike handled the extra weight great. The new Distanzias Rocked it. We did a lil bit of off roading. Although I did put the bike down getting a lil to agressive on a muddy turn. Damage was minimal a scratch and a cpl small dents in the throttle but doesn't interfere with the twisting much.
Oh and the piece of equipment that made the trip comfortable. Heated Grips!! Do it!!
