Hey guys,

Another 530 BB question for you. I have read as much as I can on here about this but still would like your expert advice.

2006 510 SMR, going to be rebuilding the top end and possibly the bottom. I don't want to do the bottom if I don't have to but we'll see.

So my question is, do you guys recommend the 530 kit? It sounds like it's pretty awesome, but for the money is it worth it? And if I'm going as far as that, should I go all the way and get the RR intake cam?

I have found a guy selling a 530 kit for around $650, and as well Toxic Moto has the 530 kit for the same price.
But Toxic Moto also has the super duper kit or whatever with all the bells and whistles and the cam. Is it worth $1200? Is there anywhere I can find it cheaper? And how much more difficult will the job be changing the cam?

Opinions? Suggestions? Connections? Anything is appreciated, and I do realize that this topics been addressed quite a bit before, but I wanted a bit more clarity. :anim_peep:

So you think that when I do the 530 kit, its worth it to split the cases?

My only concern is that the 530 is more or less plug and play, the bottom end requires special tools etc. And don't I need to send off the crankshaft to be balanced? And also, I've never done the bearings, those are press fitted too aren't they?

How much your bike has milage no, are the motor built-up now???Or mainly check??....Yes can directly install that, whitout any special tools ,
My was about 3000ml when i but that kit on, it cost 550€=735dollars. Its best what money can buy in hysky+exhaust system.
I dont know whit those cams+530cc ho it work. All ho has those say it will rip your balls of, to compare stock one.
I would guess if you drive on the street generally, you may not be able to install cam. I do not see any reason to buy it then

11 000 kms on my bike. And why would I not be able to have those cams on the street? :headscrat
Ok, Are that engine never built up earlier. Yes you can if you want, but i quess that 530cc kit it will enough. Installation is very easy to perform...

Hmm okay, so it sounds like its just a matter of whether or not to spend the extra $$$.:hmmm:

How much of the bottom end can be done without special machining tools? I imagine the bearings would need to be pressed in and the crank would need to be sent out, is that true? I would like to just do the top end if I could get away with it, but it's sounding like I should do the bottom as well. Time is a factor for me unfortunately

Yes. I have now 10 000km=6213ml and my service book says a big service, engine rebuilt. Only what you cannot doo it is that crank bearings, those are pressed.
I do not think that it would be a difficult thing if you own squeezer masine. But you can test how long that will last

With regards to the Cam springs, do they need be shimmed? Or does the head need to be machined? Jeff at Toxic was saying they do, I just want to confirm.
I dont know that. My plan is doo some head machined, they would know best
