So I've had my DR-Z400SM for less than two weeks and I found a nail in my tire after I got home today. Since the both tires are pretty new, I think I'm just gonna stick with the D207 (I want the front and rear to match, at least). I know the stock tire is a 140/70/17, but I'm wondering if anyone's tried something a little wider. I really want to avoid adding height to the rear since I'm short, but I just thought I'd ask.

Any other good tire advice? Tips on how to take the rear tire off? I haven't had much time to play with the bike, so I don't know how hard it will even be to get the wheel off the bike.

lol, I'm not THAT much of a novice it this stuff. I know how it's all done (although I assumed that the SM used tubeless tires). I'm not even sure that the thing penetrated the inner surface of the tire. I didn't just want to pull it out. If this tire really does use an inner tube, I'd be much more inclined to just have it patched.

I might end up taking it to the stealer just to see what they say. Here are some pics......

it definately has a tube, and that is not a nail... :thumbup:

It's obviously not a nail, but I didn't want to write "threaded screw thingie that looks like it was made to penetrate a surface then expand to keep itself from backing out" :lol:

It still seems to have air in the tire (and apparently tube), so I may just pull it off to make sure it's actually okay on the inside. I'd rather be sure about how bad it is than have to wonder if it's gonna blow while I'm doing 75 down the freeway.
