have to remove the swingarm to get to the front sprocket....... brilliant!
dont have to adjust the chain.. or deal with rollers.. or excessive drivetrain slack..

all in trade, is making something i wont have to do often, a bit more of a pain?
id trade off that in a second. besides, when it comes time to replace your worn out front sprocket, dont you think you should regrease the swingarm anyway?

you may not swap your sprockets/chain often, others do
very true.. point taken... it was mentioned in the caption that if you do it often, they said it should only take 15mins.. thats still not bad...
it also mentioned the rear has a huge amount of adjustment... maybe just rear sprocket changes would work?

in anycase does anyone else see this as really cool? i was like 15 when i thought of it, but ive never seen it done... roadbike, dirtbike or otherwise.

That bike looks sweet! Doesn't look like it will take too much work to put 17's on, unless of course BMW does it for us. Only bad part is probably going to be the price. Not only is it a BMW (read: expensive), but the weak US economy is really going wreak havoc on the MSRP.

It's a BMW. If you have to worry about the weak dollar you can't afford it anyway. Who cares about the effort the change the sprocket? Hans at the dealer will do that for you while you sip tea and watch C-Span.

It looks like a decent bike. It's fuel injected too! Which I love on my bike, it makes working on it impossible but its smooth for riding.

Appears to be quite the bike and I love the new engineering solutions they have come up with. Thats what the Germans do best. I can see the countershaft/swingarm pivot being copied by every single other manufacturer when the patent runs out.

Sweet, I'd have to say I miss my old BMWs. As long this one also comes w/ heated grips I'd be all over it!
