FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Team Suzuki/Rockstar/OTSFF Supermoto

2008 will show the return of the CMRC Canadian National Supermoto series. Factory Suzuki/Rockstar /OTSFF Pro rider Peter Marcelli will debut his new #6 Suzuki/Rockstar/OTSFF Electronic Fuel Injected RM-Z450.

“This new EFI RM-Z450 is sick! - says Marcelli. I’ve just spent the first weekend testing and getting things sorted at the Batavia Supermoto facility in New York and the bike is bullet proof. The Ryan Gill (Condor Racing) tuned motor is strong and pulls hard. This new EFI application is just what we needed to make this a competitive supermoto bike.”

Over and above the EFi, Marcelli’s bike is equipped with a data management system. Like an on board computer that fine tunes fuel/air on the fly. “Ryan Gill at Condor Racing came up with this system and it’s a one of a kind on this bike. - says Marcelli. It actually smooth out the power curve and changes the air/fuel while you ride! Adjusting itself for elevation and air temp.” This system Ryan has designed for the RM-Z450 is probably the only closed loop system on the planet right now.

Marcelli plans to spend the next few weeks preparing for the first round. “Now it’s up to me. - Marcelli comments. I need seat time and more seat time as it’s been since Sept of 2007 since I’ve been on a supermoto bike. We have a few adjustments to make still with the setup of the bike and the rest is up to me. My good friend and mechanic Jim “Tenacious J” Browne will be there for me this year to help track side. “Jim’s a great guy and a good motivator for me. He will be a great addition to the team.”

I have to thank everyone involved for giving me this opportunity. Suzuki Canada, a special thanks to Andre Laurin and Brad Ewen for taking very good care of me, Troy Lee Designs, Ogio, Rockstar and all the others involved. Everyone works hard to make this program successful and professional.

Hmm... I think someone has confused their closed and open loops.

Still, awesome bike.
Nope,

This bike has a closed loop FI system installed.

It uses a wide band lambda sensor to map on the fly, similar to Motec and other systems used in the roadracing world.

If you look at the bottom photo, you can see the lambda sensor and wiring just below the rad hose in the bend of the exhaust primary.
