so after putting the big bore 440 kit on my drz, i was wanting to put a new carb on it, although the fcr carb is EXPENSIVE and im poor :(
so im wondering if there are any cheaper alternatives, like putting a crf 450 carb on it? probably sounds silly but just wondering.

thanks

crf450 is an FCR carb, but the venturi on the airfilter side is not removable like on the fcr you want. which means you'd have to make an adapter to fit the filter boot..

I did the same for my XR.

hmmm how hard was it to make?

and would it really be worth it on the drz?
piece of tube in the right size, piece of silicone hose to clamp it on the carb..

And yes, the FCR is one of the first things to do on an drz, together with an suspension (rear mostly) and brake upgrade(front obviously).

I have no idea man. I wouldn't go for the fcr 41 from the younger crf's.. that would be a bit overkill.. The early crf450's have an fcr40 (i have that one)

Which year has which size you can lookup on wikipedia or something.
