So I'm finally gonna post some pics of my Supermoto Stunt Bike build. It's been a long road.
When I got it back in January of 2007, it was a pretty clapped out 2002 YZF 426 moto-x bike. I got a good deal on it and at the time there weren't any 4 strokes to be found in my area for sale, so I jumped on it. Many long hours and money went into building this thing, but stunting a Supermoto was more comfortable to me than a crotch rocket coming from a moto-x background, so it has all been worth it. It's still not totally completed, but when your building a bike, when are they ever really done! lol

DAMN! i envy your bike

I always wondered if any engine modifications are needed as when you are lets say on the rear wheel maybe there is a shortage of oil somewhere? is that a problem to these bikes?

To be honest, I'm not sure. I only have maybe at total of an hour ride time on it currently, but the prior owner put the Dr. D oil block off system on it which means the motor only holds just under a quart. I plan on hooking up all the stock oil lines again so I can run some more oil in the frame. I know a lot of stunters over fill the oil on their bike to help prevent oil starving the engine.

i guess my stator burned this way as i hadn't had enought oil. i wheelied for several miles when the engine suddenly stopped at ~80mph on rear wheel. i'm not sure if overfilling is good for seals.

Damn, nice bike man. Looks like you showed ESD some love with the rear pegs :thumbup: Did you do the subframe or have it done?

Wicked machine Jay, that subframe is what I'm talking about! This was great to see cause I'll give my KTM 380 two-stroke a stunt dress once I get the chance. I like the idea of swapping out the subframe and running an open airbox for stunting. Defiantly wont rob her of any power or throttle responce.

About overfilling your engine with oil, I strongly feel you shouldnt overfill it. Its very bad for the engine to be over filled, oil will get where it shouldnt be, seals arent designed for the added pressure, lots of things.

Lots of engines cant get oil up to the valves when you wheelie, perhaps they are a dry sump that picks up nothing when you put a new angle on the oil level.

Basically I dont think more oil is going to help it reach the topend, you might end up doing more harm than you prevent.

Yeah, Ryan (ESD mfg, 50Stunt.com, Supermotosunts.com, ect...) made the passenger pegs and gave me the info on what type of metal to use. We built it ourselves. Ryan couldn't do it since my bike is on the East Coast & he's on the West. Probably wouldn't have ever came about tho without his advise. Mine was a little more difficult due to the amount of bends we had to put in it to fit the YZ426. The Honda is a little more straight. It came out great! Now I just need to find a place that I won't get arrested riding it! :lol:

I've just heard of some crotch rocket stunter adding a tiny bit extra oil, but I don't plan on doing it. I won't be doing much street riding with it, so long wheelies probably won't happen very often. I built it to stunt in parking lots & stunt demos, & sneak in a little urban when I can, but mostly smaller areas. It will be up & down a lot, so the motor won't be starving too much. I also got a lighting stator for it to run a fan set up to keep her coooooool.

if u want a handbrake hit up fullthrottleinc.net for the supermoto handbrake and i run it and its super fucking good!

Thanks bro, but I ain't got that kind of loot. I'm gonna build one using the GP Tech adaptor, and a Goodridge build-a-line brake line. If I had the loot tho, I'd go with the fullthrottle set up. Your bike is sikkkkkkk Kaiks!

Not sure. No speedo & I've never had it topped out in 5th yet. I wasn't really built for top end speed, but it will climb the side of a barn! :lol:

Nice bike man. I have almost eh exact same bike, lol. When I bought my 426 it even had blue grips and the exact same graphics!!! Now if I could ever find the time ot finish my subframe..... Until then the pegs and footbar are alright! As for the handbrake idea, do what I did. I also already did the GPtech rear handbrake setup so if you need any help just let me know. I run an F4i rear master cylinder (cut down the rod) with a Gptech adapter and goodridge buildaline... sound familiar? For the front master I got a shindy one and it works PERFECTLY. Lots of power. One thing I ran into though.... Get a stainless rear line because upgrading the rear master and adding that front will make that OEM line flex BAD!!!!

if u goin do the gp adaptor LOOK UP REKLUSE HANDBRAKES its the same exact setup but no modification needed
