speedometer calibration

does anyone know how to adjust or modify the speedo drive gear on a xr 600 so when using a smaller 17 inch wheel the speed reads correct?right now i have the trailtech speedo on it but i want to put the stock one back on but to read the right speed.thanks

On my xr600 the standard speedo is in km per hour so i dont know if this will help, but with 17inch front rim,with a 120/70 tyre ,the speed it reads in km is roughly double the actual speed in mph, i.e 60kmph is 30mph ,80kmph is 40mph and so on.
