As the title says, I finally gave in and stopped at the local MV/BMW/Ducati dealer today. I went down to check out the Hyper, but of course I had to look around while I was there. Those G650's are really nice looking bikes, look much better in person. Drooled over the Brutale's of course, man those things are sweet. Then on to the Hyper. They had a couple on hold for customers, the demo was sitting out front with the Termi slipons, and had a red standard model for sale.

I tried to keep myself from talking to the salesman but I broke down, he was VERY cool, probably the NICEST salesman I've ever talked to in any bike/car dealer (I've heard a number of stories about Duc dealers being snotty). I talked to him for a bit, asking questions and whatnot. He told me their demo Hyper has about 600 miles on it, of which he personally has put about 250+ on. He couldn't stop raving about how awesome the bike is, and how he was surprised that he liked it as he's used to 999's and 1098's.

So apparently they're having a deal right now.... 1.9%/36 financing and 1500 in free parts/accessories on the Hyper right now, only lasting till the end of the month. After hearing about this the wheels started turning, and I had to sit down and get a couple of quotes.
-For the standard model + the 2into1 Termi race pipe installed before I pick it up, I was looking at 14k OTD (pipe installed, tax, title, reg)
-For the S + race pipe I was looking at 17k OTD (pipe installed, tax, title, reg)

What do you guys think? 14k OTD with the pipe sounds like a damn good deal to me.....

Only thing is insurance....being that I'm only 24 and it's my first bike...Geico (who I have my two cars insured with) wants 2100/year full coverage and Progressive gave me a quote of 1700/year :eek:

But man....that bike is so sweeeeeeeeet! :bike:

Heh, I was waiting for that reply. It'll be the first street bike I've ever owned, not the first I've ever ridden. I've been in the dirt since I was 5, ridden all my buddies crotch rockets, harley's, etc. I know how to handle a bike and be responsible, I'm not some 18 year old kid going out and buying a liter bike without ever having ridden something on two wheels. :bike:

I actually was planning on taking the MSF course, nice little discount on insurance when you take it :)

And I completely understand the "you may know how to ride, but not on the street", thats the only thing that 'worries' me. It's not me I'm worried about, it's the rest of the idiots on the road, it'll take some getting used to constantly being in "defensive driving mode".

I wasn't dead set on buying the hyper, just thinking about it. I still really want a real 'tard as I'm a hooligan at heart and you just can't jump a Hyper. A local dealer recently became a Husky dealer and am still in love with the 08' 510 I sat on, and have been giving serious thought to pulling the trigger on it.

Hey Octavio

You bet it was Cliff's and Motofit. I won't be touching the highway, just tearing around town. And I agree about dropping a SM and just picking it up, thats another reason why I still want a real SM. I worked out a price on a 510 with Mike but told him I wasn't sure yet as I had some things to take care of. I'm gonna head back down there tomorrow I think and see if he's still willing to do the same deal :infrandom Just gotta clean out my shed to make room for another bike
I'll definitely try to catch you at Marcus one of these days, just need a bike! It'd look silly rolling up on super sunday in the Z06
