hey man, did you figure out how to make it work?

I'm in the process and finding out that my 2006 TE510 is a black hole when it comes to parts.

any advice on parts for my SM conversion would be great!

thanks
Well, more or less. I am using a stock SM510 wheel and rotor, with my TE510 caliper, and a cobbled up caliper bracket. I have about 600 miles of SE Ohio and West Virginia roads on the setup.

Massive improvement over TE510 braking. The caliper is a tight fit since the SM rotor is 5mm thick versus the 3mm stock TE rotor. I had to replace the stock magnet with some tiny Radio Shack rare earth magnets that I mounted flush with one of the rivets for clearance. And I ground the part number off the inside of the caliper for a little extra clearance.

Supposedly EBC should be coming out with a bracket to adapt the SM rotor to a late model TE any week now. I will gladly replace my cobbled bracket when that happens.

The other option that people are apparently using is to buy the '04 EBC 320mm rotor kit.

Apparently the caliper relocation bracket that comes with the kit is not compatible. However, you can contact EBC technical support directly, and for about $25 they will sell you a KTM style relocation bracket that works. Please note that this caliper relocation bracket WILL NOT work with the stock Husqvarna SM rotor as it is thicker and dished outboard.

The SM rear wheel and rotor are a direct bolt on, no modifications required. Although, to me, the rear brake feels somewhat week on the street. Nothing like the instant stoppie power of the front.

I am running 14-42 gearing with a 110 link chain. I believe my GPS phone was indicating a crusing speed of a little over 80 MPH at 8000 RPM with this gearing. I also run 15-42 with the same chain if my friends plan on sustaining higher speeds.

And by the way, if you live somewhere with some really twisty roads, the TE510 with SM wheels is incredible.

I was surprised by how "normal" the bike felt with both 18 inch wheels. It is incredibly stable at any speed, and just carves in the corners. The DRZ I was riding with was very twitchy in comparison, and such a pig.

First real ride was on county rode '555' that contains nothing but blind corner after blind corner. Could come in to the blind corners at moderate speed with confidence, and then just role on the throttle to accelerate all the way through. The poor DRZ was coming in slow, and then didn't have the power to do much more than carry that speed through the corner. It was a total massacre
