hope someone can shed some light on this for me.
Just rebuilt the engine and put a new piston in (woosner) now it has fired up there is white smoke coming from the exhaust
Can anyone tell me if this is normal till its run in or have i got a problem

Depending on how much smoke, it could be assembly lube burning off, or it could be that a gasket didn't seal, and your puffing collant.

If its assembly lube it should burn off in 2 or 3 minutes. White smoke is usually coolant. New gaskets? Did you properly torque the head?

See if the cooling system tank is getting coolant pushed into it when running. If it is you have a blown head gasket.

Im not loosing any water and there is no oil in the coolant and the smoke goes away after five minutes of idle just wondered if it was with the piston not been seated proply yet or something more serious
