"Awesome looking bike. I just got a 14' smc r myself. find it a bit too tall for city riding so I ordered the 1" koula link.
I'm curious what u did to correct the geometry after installing your kouba link. Did u move the front forks up in the triple clamp and if so by how much? Or did u just adjust the rear sag, especially since u have the oehlins shock in, did that correct the geometry for u?

I'm also worried about the side stand becoming too long, making the bike too upright and therefore unstable when used. I use the bike to commute in city traffic so any insight into lowering and making the bike a better city ripper and user friendly daily driver is appreciated.

I did the 1in Koude link, the Ohlins rear shock was the same length as the stock rear shock. I did move up the forks in the triple clamps .8 of an inch since I am racing I didn't lower it a full inch due to too much dive on hard braking into the corners. The stock SMC kickstand will be fine even after lowering it 1 inch.

That side stand is annoying though. Not as bad as my friends duke 690. that thing will easily tip over to the other side. can't park it on a slope... retarded. Why cant they just put a proper stand on them?

Does your seat seem a bit wide towards the front? The two little rubber bumpers on mine are wider than the frame.

I'm wondering if they're all like that or if I just got one that was warped.

When I bought it past november

Changed oil and filters, installed turn signals and replaced the license plate and the license plate light, changed all plastics, installed mirrors, handguards and replaced the handlebar grips.

And this is how it looks like now

I changed today front brake pads, transmission kit and tyres(it was riding Pirelli supercorsa front and rear(180/55 in the rear wheel and I didn't liked it, the tyre was so sticky but too wide), I'm loving the first kilometers with the contiattacks SM and the 160 rear).

And in the next weeks I hope it will look like this I designed in my free time

To do list:
Install the plastic skid plate
Replace or repare the shift lever
Install axle protectors
Custom decals
Search, buy and install a tail tidy(in spain the license plate must have less than 30 degrees inclination, and now it's like 50 or 60 degrees, last friday night the police stopped me at an alcohol test and told me my license plate holder was not legal , but they didn't said nothing about the akra...(I felt ofended :rofl::rofl: laws about stupid things like the license plate and sound are very restrective here and the police is usually looking for people with bikes like ours just to achieve a number of monthly tickets to get an extra pay...)

Just picked this up over the weekend. I got tired of debating with myself and riding buddies whether or not the 690 is that much better than my 625 smc.... Now I have both so I can objectively decide...

IIRC the PO said the rear went right in, but fitting the front required different spacers. I could find out if interested.
