Seat Comparison

First I'd like to thank everyone on this board for the information that I've collected over the past year. Late last year I bought an 08 DRZ400SM. It is my first street bike and really enjoy it. I have had some time to put some miles on this year and have come to loathe the stock seat. I can maybe do 15 miles before my butt hurts. I have done a lot of reading on seat options on here and tt. I have narrowed it down to seat concepts and Renazco. I haven't seen a thread that compares different seats. I really would like to have a seat soon, and the wait list for Renazco is rather long. I'm 6' and weigh 200 lbs. Is it worth waiting for the Renazco or is seat concepts about the same comfort level? Pic of what seat is going on:

I have nothing worthwhile to add, except that I'm in the same boat as you. I have to do something quick - an hour long ride shouldn't be painful.

Badass bike, btw.
Either seat is worth while. Both have a good rep and highly reccomeneded by a ton of convinced owners.

I just ordered the standard seat concepts kit and will be doing a 500 mile weekend here in two weeks si we will see how my almost iron butt does. Only reason I didn't order a Renazco seat us I would rather spend the extra greenbacks on a set of panniers. I happen to live down the street from Renazco an would love there seat but can't muster up the nerve to drop that much coin for a seat if I don't have to
My guess is, it's going to be hard to find someone that has owned both. I haven't tried a Seat Concepts seat, so I can't say anything about it one way or the other. I myself went the Renazco route, and couldn't be happier. I've had mine for two years now with zero issues, and have done many 300+ mile days in total comfort, and even a couple that were pushing the 400 mile mark. Between the fit and finish, and their customer service, I'm a customer for life. Not to mention, I'm sold on the suede top big time.
You think if I bring my seat in with the seatconcepts kit in hand and ask them to install if they would or through me out?

I've got a Renazco on my WR and a Seat Concepts Tall on my DRZ. The Renazco was also built up an additional 2" from stock height for the WR. I do 300+ miles on each bike and have absolutely no problem from either seat. I do however like the suede much more. I really don't think the Renazco is worth the additional $200 dollars. Great seat, but so is the Seat Concepts. I don't think you would be dissapointed either way. I got all vinyl on the Seat Concepts, because I can't stand the way gripper and fake "carbon fiber" look...my ass still stays planted and I don't slide around.

Thank you so much, that is exactly what I wanted to hear. Seat concepts here I come!!!!
I want to know the comfort difference between the seat concepts tall and low... I'm a smaller guy, but if the taller seat is comfier then I will just deal with standing on my toes at lights.. but I wouldn't mind he lower one. Does anyone have experience with the low one?

from what i have read on TT the low is comfy as long as you dont get the soft foam as some owners were hitting the seat pan on bumpy roads or offroad situations. im not big nor small. im 5'9'' 175lbs and 31'' inseam and i ordered the standard with medium foam. i was more or less looking for support rather then shear comfort.
Any thoughts on the comfort difference between standard and tall? I'm 6' 3", so I can certainly deal with the taller seat if there's a big comfort difference. But I'm fairly happy with stock height. And after a seat, my next purchase may be bars, because the stockers are too low for me. If I go with a tall seat, I'm thinking I will need even taller bars.
