I'm not exactly asking about a supermoto but,

I've found a 99 ATK 250 2-stroke, NJ street title for pretty cheap, sub $1000.

I've been looking for a cheap 2 stroke trail/enduro type bike. Should I just hold out for a KTM 200/250 EXC, or Jap bike?

I've heard a lot of people say the rotax engines are very solid. But the bikes are more maintenance intensive then a Jap bike. Its a fraggin 2-stroke, how maintenance intensive can it be?

If anyone know anything about these bikes, please let me know.
Thanks

Bucho, I have one of those, it's a 260 version. As APA said, they are quite reliable. I may sell mine, if you change your mind. The difference between the 250 and the 260, is minor, I think it's 248 cc , for the 250, and 251 for the 260...kinda seems silly to go that route, but there was a purpose for it. I 'm not selling mine for less than $1000. It's a '99 model. In good condition. They do well in woods riding/harescrambles.There is potential to make it a 300, with KTM parts, and the correct formula.
