I wear gearne supermotard boots!
how do those sm boots fit? are there any companies that fit just like them? i was hoping to make sure that they fit me well before i drop a wad of cash on them and cant return them to motostrano

Also- I can't speak for the helmet, but I have a shift vendetta jacket, which was a higher end leather version (msrp $400). that seems to be working out quite well so far, and i wear my leatt brace over that no prob. just an FYI, shift no longer makes street gear, so if you find one of those jackets, you might want to pull the trigger if that's what you want. I got my jacket directly from shift for $150 through closeouts due to that fact. doubt they are still doing that though.

Holy jeeebus!! Lol! That chart is looney. Check it out, I wear a 10.5 us size in most all my shoes/boots and the 44.5 euro in those boots fit fine with light socks, they would probably be a bit snug with medium to heavy weight socks. Best advice I can give you bro. There is a USA website. Give them a ring, they might be able to help u out further. I am dead, must slumber.....haaaaaaa

I have the variant, it's a good lid, alot less turbulent then a mx lid with goggles.
I have seen/heard the variants run small.... I dont have a icon dealership anywhere near me so i cant find out first hand but do you consider them to run small size wise? All of my helmets have always been Large but am wary to buy one until i know for sure it fits right....

A jacket, helmet, gloves and a decent set of boots are a must. Also consider an inexpensive set of unobtrusive knee guards like this:

http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/2/6/10/8669/ITEM/Troy-Lee-Designs-T-Bone-Guards.aspx

I have been seeing a lot of post-crash pictures of people riding with jeans and I noticed many of those people jacked up their knees. Even a simple lowside can really eff things up, so even a little bit of protection there can go a long way to prevent some road rash or bad bruising. I think these TLD knee guards are going to be my next gear purchase.

I have a dainese long goretex textile jacket and wear carrharts and linemans boots when running errands or commuting. Tech 8's for riding for short fun rides. One piece A* suit for faster fun rides and racing soon. Arai XD3.

The jacket was get this, $143 at cycle gear brand new. The tag said $523.
Tech 8's were $269 at yammie dealer (2009 model) $400 for the suit (craigslist) Helmet was $400 online. There's no reason to spend thousands to get good gear.
You just have to be patient.

Oh, just got some nice new gloves, $80 (cortech latigo) great glove for the $.

now i am even more confused:

http://www.zappos.com/measure-your-shoe-size

Though, the only sizes available are 10 or 11... which one do you think would fit best?
I've got a pair of Gaerne SM boots in size 11 IIRC. I'll double check the size when I get home after class. If you ever head this way towards Butte, let me know and I can let you try them on if you want. I usually wear a 11(wide) or 11.5 boot.

They fit great and felt like they were already almost broken in when I first got them. They've been the best fitting /riding boot I've ever had.

I just checked and the tag says Euro size 46 and US size 11. It dosen't really match that chart that was linked a few posts above for some reason. :headscrat My Alpinestars road race boots were the same size (Euro 46) so they should be pretty close to get a feel for the sizing.

I'm in Butte every weekday for classes at MT Tech so I can throw them in the Jeep if you ever do get out this way. I don't get out to Bozeman much though. The offer stands whenever you get a chance, so just keep it in mind.

I will let you know about the gloves I just got from Joe at Motostrano(forum sponser:) ) The fit and finish are great, look good with all my gear and would look great with yours also! The fact that the pinky finger is sewn into the next finger is a great feature.

Very nice gloves:thumbup:

Edit... just got back from the first ride with them and they are very comfortable.
