ok, my leathers are at the tailor, I want to hit the twisties tomorrow so here is my choice

I wear a Textile jacket and nice gloves and....

Jeans with knee and shin guards and some boots or

Motocross pants knee and shin guards and boots. ??

looking at it, I think my motocross pants have more protection. (Set of Thor Core pants) But Im not sure

I am going to keep it reserved, but you never know. What do you guys wear beside leathers?

Jeans and MX pants will last for only a fraction of a second sliding on asphalt. For abrasion resistance, you're stuffed either way.

Either get some kevlar jeans, or better still some leather pants/supermoto pants if you don't want to wear a 1 piece.
Thanks, I have a 1 piece, its getting tailored. I know they both are not the best, just which one is better of the two.

lol neither
jeans will come off in under a second
and the mx gear will melt to you,
which is better?
maybe I am not wording things correctly. Guess I should just wear shorts
Heh, not everyone reads things in context. If I were you, I'd probably just wear the jeans. In the event that you DO go down, cotton doesn't melt to your skin, others have posted about how ER doctors say cotton is the easiest to get off the flesh, vs. MX pants literally melting to your skin (then again I've read that it doesn't...). So, it's your choice, just don't take the chances that you would if you were in your leathers:thumbup:

I would never ride agressive with out leathers. I still have my set from my racing the crotch rochets a while ago. I've seen some bad stuff from guys wearing jean, getting gravel scrubben out of them and losing about 2" of ass cheek.

I'm on a stock DRZ400sm with a pipe now, WAY less power and I keep the speeds down. I just need to ride and I know for this I dont have the ideal gear. That is a good point about the nylon melting. I'll go with the jeans.

Thanks
if you crash around 25 to 30 your fine
but around 40 to 50 with out leathers you can be in for a world of hurt, dont get me wrong you could have nothing but a bruise

i was giving worst case
all depends on the speed-
the mx boots and knee/shin gaurds will help more than you think though if there a decent design
Can you fit the mx pants over the jeans?

And i read what you typed and am not jumping on you for not having propper gear. Like you said you'll take it easy, just dont go faster then you need too or lean more then you need too. Stay on decent roads, avoid gravel, etc.... You can still have fun without pushing it too hard. Ya you'll be taking a risk, but leathers wont help prevent a drunk driver from crossing the double yellow. We are always taking risks, its part of this sport. Just take it easy out there!

I'm guilty of riding in jeans and shorts occasionally, but when i do i ride easy.
