I've been seeing guys in photos like Ward rockin his dirt riding gear on the track, while other guys are wearing their leather power ranger suits. I'm just curious if the dirt-clothing guys have their leathers on underneath.
That's actually a good question you ask. Although it appears to be dirt wear, it's actually Supermoto wear that lookslike dirt wear. The jersey is a dirt jersey, but the guys are all wearing armored body suits underneath. Also, the pants are made predominently of leather (I know they look like textile) and are extremely well padded. I tried wearing the stuff a few times, but I went back to full suits. My leather sponsor actually let me design a supermoto specific suit that is a combination of textile and leather. So, you stay cool and comfortable, but still have all of the protection in exactly the paces where you need it.
Kwota, I've got a set of the troy lee supermoto gear if you wanted to take a closer look at the stuff to see how it's made. It's tough enough to take a trip down the pavement.
That's right. I saw you rockin that at Boundary, but I just didn't put it together. I've got a power ranger suit myself so I don't need to buy or plan to buy anything else, but I was just curious. You'll have to show me that next time I'm out there.
Same here. Full leather suit only for me! I have crashed many times in mine with no skin touching the ground, and Ihave seen guys in the Moto-type gear hit the pavement and get all torn up. Full roadrace Leathers rule.
