im going to replace the head gasket on my 06 sm610 this summer but already replaced the cam chain a few thousand miles ago. the bike has 25k on it so I want to replace/inspect anything that could need replacing when the engine is what much disassembled. suggestions on placed to look for problems or things worth replacing?

it's more of a down-time annoyance to replace/repair a motorcycle, especially considering husky parts aren't always easy to find so I'd rather replace early then have to do this again anytime soon.

Replace your two exhaust valves, because they (unlike the intakes) are made of two different types of steel seamed at the stem, and you don't want to take any chances there. And definitely get all the valves professionally seated at a machine shop, that more than anything I've done gave my '06 the most extra umpfff!
