Help?

I need a bit of help here guys, I need to swap a rear spring on one of my bikes and I am not sure how to do it. Can I do the spring just by unloading it with the adjuster? Or do I have to have a spring compressor to do it? Any one? Please?

Thanks for any help in advance folks...

Yep, unscrew the preload so it's got 1/4-1/2" slack, there's a round snap ring that comes out, then you can remove the plate that holds the spring.

At least that's how KTM's are.

loosen top spring locking ring -- then you can Turn spring (loosen) by Hand - no tools needed -

loosen spring alot -- inches -- then slide rubber bumper towards shock -

then there is a spring retaining plate - remove it - spring will slide off -

Thank you gents, that should save me a few dollars. Groovy2, next time I am in Austin for a ride, first beer that night is on me. Hey idle, you in Texas at any time? If so, bring the scooter for a ride and the same goes for you. :thumb up:
