I'm trying to replace my rear shock spring on my 08 510 but it's proving to be more difficult than I expected.

The shock is a sachs model, with the collars being what seems to be very soft aluminum. I made a homemade brass punch and whacked it with a hammer a few times, but no luck. Even sprayed some penetrating oil to help loosen it up, no dice. Even after hitting it with a brass punch the collars still got boogered up pretty good so I thought i'd post here before messing it up even more.

edit: got it loose with a big hammer and let penetrating oil sit overnight
