When choosing a helmet, any rider would want to be confident that the piece he or she picked can provide solid protection from severe injuries to the head in case of an accident while being lightweight, comfortable enough, and suitable for your riding style and application. Most modern motorcycle helmets feature several layers of protection, starting with soft inner liner designed to provide a precise fit, comfort, and moisture-wicking properties.

In the vast majority of helmets, the middle, energy-absorbing layers are made of Styrofoam, a crushable material that dampens impacts well.
