Hi,

The cam chain gave out and made a mess.

I bought the bike from a guy and didn't ask him about the warranty (bought 3weeks ago) He bought it back in 2009 but who knows if it still has it.

It needs new valves, piston, piston rings, cam chain, chain tensioner ect. The numbers are totaling up!

Now the problem is that apparently qlink doesn't sell the valve guide separately so one needs to buy a completely new HEAD! ($410) yeah right!!!

Any suggestions?

I wish I could say I was kidding, shitty news about your bike. You gotta ask yourself if it's worth repairing or if you should try and part it out or make a sweet coffee table with it.

geez, thanks for all your help man. No the repair is not that expensive plus I bought the moto for really cheap. It only has 1200miles. As soon as I fix it, I'm going to buy a diff. bike.

Just need help in finding the valve GUIDE. Any REAL suggestion.

Try and find another bike to salvage parts from, or measure the valve guide and take it to an engine builder to see if they have one that will work.

Valve guides aren't that complex, my bet would be on an engine builder or head specialist being able to fit a guide off the shelf.

You may want to google K-Line valve guide liners.
They are like a Heli-coil for valve guides.

Order the valve guide for a Suzuki DR200. The Qlink engines are essentially identical with the exception of the oil filter.

I am glad you responded to my post. I actually had the chance to meet you in person. I was the guy that asked you about the xf200 while I was taking the MSF course. I don't know if you remember.

So, would it be safe to say that the valves, guide, piston, head gasket, cam chain and cam tensioner are the same?

From what I looked up a couple years ago when I got my 1st Qlink, the engines have all the same dimensions with the exception of the oil filter cavity of the right side engine clutch cover. I could be wrong, but that is what it appeared to me in my research.
