I don't think it had anything to do with the oil change. They are simple bikes, fairly easy to trouble shoot (at least compared to the newest 690s with fuel injection and all that stuff...)
If it happens again go thru basic steps, fuel line, choke, gas, kill switch, etc.
Mine is really hard to start when cold, last time I changed the oil, I had to leave in the middle of the process and finish the job a week later..bike was then cold and couldn't start it to bleed the oil from in the frame..
