I've got a few questions regarding a oil breather catch can setup for my 2003 yz450.

I plan on building my own reservoir out of aluminum box tubing with welded end caps. Do i need to put some sort of baffle to separate the intake and outtake sides of the reservoir. Also do i have to route my outtake to the air box, or is this redundant.

If anyone has any other suggestions for oil catch can setups it would be greatly appreciated.

If you were to lay it down on its side while mounting, an internal baffle from bottom side 3/4 the height of the inside dimension of the box would keep any larger amounts of oil from sloshing over to the exhaust side. I prefer a more vertical mount that keeps oil and junk much lower than the exhaust port to prevent siphoning and blowby.

Post a pic when you are done- sounds like a neat project!
