Im new to the SuperMoto scene and just looking for some advice. Im looking into getting an SMR 450 that is set up for race. But im wanting to ride in on the street. Any ideas on what the process might be to re plate it and register it? And any kind of advice at all as in what price it should be at, or anything. Thanks

• Research what your state requirements are as far as what equipment is required on your bike to be street-legal
• Find, purchase and install all that stuff (cost depends on what, where and when you buy the stuff)
Adding the street-legal stuff to my X (that was already set-up for the track) cost about $300 dollars and an afternoon to install it
• Go down to your closest DMV and switch from an off-road title (or MSO) to a street-legal title
• Have the bike inspected there at the same time (if your state requires it)
• Install your new plates, tags and carry your registration with you everywhere
• Get insurance and carry proof of that everywhere too
• Ride, rest, ride, rest... lather, rinse, repeat as necessary
• Keep grinning from ear-to-ear as people wonder if you're insane

Have fun here and welcome to SMJ!

Thanks. Good old california has too many regs. Plus on the title it says off road use only. Thanks for the help though. I will fine something soon. Thinking about converting a dual sport.
