As far as your answers, i can't really help you with the rim question. But if you go to the manufactor section then go to KTM and post in there or even the TECH section, you'll probably get an answer faster.
As far as the front break goes, ya you'll definitely need to upgrade the front disk to a supermoto one. It's not cheap to do, but it's worth it. After very much use, the stock one will "fade" which means after you use it for a bit you'll have a lot less stopping force. It's not b/c they are worn out, its b/c they get too hot. The bigger front brake will dissipate the heat better and help prevent the problem.
