I have worn out the chain on my 2005 DRZ400SM at 9800 miles. I ride it on the street and for occasional track days.

My question is, should I stick with the stock 15 front/44 tooth rear sprockets or change. Of course the sprockets are worn out also, I am asking about the size of new sprockets. Anyone have any experience in this area, I would appreciate your thoughts.

I just ordered up a new Driven chain and sprocket kit. Went up to a 16 front and kept it stock for the rear. My other bike is a R1 and I'm used to taller gears. I'm bouncing off the rev limeter all day long right now and I'm hoping this will keep my in the 400's power band a litter longer and give me a little more use of the lower gears.

From what I have read on here and TT Driven is the only front sprocket you can fit when bumpin up to a 16 in the front.

We'll see how it works out.
