Ryan Kearns, featured in this vid, has an interesting story. Recently he's been thrown in the deep end. He's had some great success in the SupermotoUSA championship. Luc1, with Fredo Geurin came to the states for a few rounds of SupermotoUSA. When the team boss saw Ryan race, he was impressed enough to offer him a full time ride in France. Ryan's parents put him on a plane to Paris. A couple of days later, Luc1 had put together a couple of bikes for him, set-up the team and the trucks for an additional rider, and had him fitted for a team suite. A couple of days after that he was doing a Friday practice for his first race. That was last weekend. So in the past week Ryan went from trying to make something of a supermoto career in the US (which for anyone can be spotty at best), to competing in one of the most hotly contested supermoto series in the world on one of the best teams in the world. Oh, and Ryan is only 16 years old!
Just as an example as to how different supermoto is in France, there were over 120 riders trying to qualify for the 32 rider grid for the 450 main. They take it to a level that we've never seen in North America. Ryan said, "... it's no joke over here." Uh... yeah, you could say that.
