you're putting too much thought into it.
step1.. ignore the internet.
goto your local cycle shop (bring helmet)
try on diffrent models.(with helmet)

buy ones you like... dont like any, but like the model? go online.

they're $20 - $40. not a huge deal to get worked up about... pretty much any of them will work.

wow, thanks for all that completely useless banter.

and goggles get up to about $100 which is a big deal especially when you are poor, but thanks anyways. Just thought I'd get some opinions before I go drop any cash on some piece of crap that I'm going to hate and just wish I had asked someone that already figured out that they suck.

and wanted to show off the new lid.
ok.. nice lid. (i figure you'd appreciate THAT useless banter  )

yea, i know they can get pretty pricey, but at that point you're paying for the name/graphic/pretty-mirror-lense... not for a better goggle.

notice they're all almost identical... and that the same 4 main goggles have 90% of the market...
the main brands are all good enough quality that they wont just accidentally break. (well, maybe not some of the Spy+ ones.... )
the main thing is you need to know if the frame clears your helmet when its fitted to your specific face.
you'll need to try them on to know that.
other then that one part... the rest is how much do you want to spend.. the prettier they are, the more they cost.
if you want personal opinions, i like the scotts and the cheapie oakleys.. they never break(within reasonable use), replacement lenses are available everywhere, and they fit my face.

i was just trying to say its not worth hyping one up over the other, because they really arnt 'better' then each other.. they just have SLIGHTLY diffrent shapes\size. thats it.

right, that's cool. I had one pair of Oakley Bubba Stewart ones back when he was riding 125. I loved them, but I haven't bought a MX helmet or goggles for about 5 years. I'm also probably going to get a mirror lens so I was hoping someone could chime in if they have had good or bad experiences with the mirror lens made by any of the big manufactures.
if money is an issue, its usually cheaper to buy the 'cheap' goggles and a new off-brand lense then it is to buy the googles with the cool lense.
