Waddup peoples!
my buddy just got a 2003 xr400 w/CA plates. I rode it for one day and now I'M HOOKED. Wondering if its still possible to make a new XR street legal... also, what about an CRF? can that be street legalized in California?
One more thing, anybody knows of someone trying to get rid of one?
I want an XR400 2002-up.(w/california plates) I have a 1998 Ducati 748 w/minor fixing (needs a brake lever and a new throttle) thats all, everything is great.

Cheers.

Which CRF? The CRF230L is street-legal as of this year in CA - but if you're buying a new plated bike in that range, IMO you'll get a lot more for your money in a WR250R/X or a KLX250S.

If you're dipping your toe into SM, IMO look at something that came plated from the factory and is easy and cheap to get - like a DR-Z400.
