Hi everybody! I just bought my second ktm duke 2. I had 1 i traded in for a dorsoduro and then the aprilia got stolen. I got some insurance money back, and i bought another ktm duke 2. I took it to the shop yesterday and they told me it needs a new top end. approx 2000$.

this is because it has faulty valve, and losing compression and the engine is gonna go soon. It is either scrap the bike that i just got and rode for 3 days, or fix it.

ANy advice? I am fairly mechanically oriented and think i may be able to fix this on my own, but could really use some advice at this point.

Anyone?

thanks! any help would be appreciated or even any advice

warranty

no, no warranty. bought it used. Worked great for the first 4 days. shop says rebuilding the engine is worth more than the bike. everything else looks great.

understand that its used but only a couple days on a bike and it blows up??? sounds fishy to me and the dealer may have known about an issues prior to the sale. It could be legit but doesn't seem that way.

If you are even remotely mechanically inclined, you can fix it yourself.
