Hi everyone,

I've ridden dirt for most of my life, but never street. I recently got an itch to get some sm wheels for my '07 exc 450. I'm pretty broke and need everything so I've been looking for some used stuff or one of the warp9 sets.

Id love any and all opinions or suggestions on how to get set-up, where to ride (besides the typical roads near me), and how to ride (I'm sure technique can be quite a bit differnet then dirt).

Thanks everyone!

Chris

Lotsa questions.
• Keep looking for a used wheel set, that's how I ended up with mine. Barring that, look for a smokin' sale on a new set online.
• The Warp 9 sets have worked out fine for the guys I know who have them.
• Do the conversion a little at time as you can afford it.
• I've found well-maintained stock brakes work just fine so you don't have to pop for a big diameter front from the get-go.
• Check the Local SM Ride Alert Forum here http://www.supermotojunkie.com/forumdisplay.php?5-Local-Supermoto-Ride-alerts to get more info on where and who to ride with.
• Check the Local SM Racing & Club Forum here http://www.supermotojunkie.com/forumdisplay.php?4-Supermoto-Racing-amp-Clubs-forums to learn what racing and clubs there are in your area (which you did not indicate).
• Dirt or street style is up to you. Either is correct on these bikes, that's what I LOVE about them. I have a dirt background so I started with foot/leg out. The more I ride on the street the more I'm starting to convert over to keeping my feet on the pegs.

Welcome to SMJ!
