I just bought my first bike, a 2009 KLX250SF. I want to get some good dual sport tires for it that will be safe for commuting on the highway at 65mph but worthy doing all kinds of trail riding. The problem is there seem to be NO dual sport tires available in my bike's size (front: 110/70-17, rear: 130/70-17). I really love the TKC 80 by Continental, but the closest size is front 120/70-17, rear 130/70-17. Will this work??

Are there KLX250SF riders out there who have tried dual sport tires on their bike? Is it dangerous to put slightly taller or wider tires on these wheels?

In my searches I haven't found anyone who has this sizing and tire on my bike. I could really use some advice here. Any help much appreciated!

Thanks

I have used the Kenda K270 with good results. 4.60X17 front, 5.10X17 rear. Converts pretty close to your stock sizes too.

K270's on my SM510R.
