Nasty Accident

A friend just e-mailed me these picts..........

A picture is worth a thousand words.

The Honda rider was traveling at such a "very high speed", his reaction
time was not sufficient enough to avoid this accident. Swedish Police
estimate a speed of ~250 KM/h before the bike hit the slow moving car
side-on at an intersection. At that speed, they predicted that the
rider's reaction time (once the vehicle came into view) wasn't
sufficient enough for him to even apply the brakes. The car had two
passengers and the bike rider was found INSIDE the car with them. The
Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of impact and landed 10
feet from where the collision took place. All three involved (two in car
and rider) were killed instantly. This graphic demonstration was placed
at the Stockholm Motorcycle Fair by the Swedish Police and Road Safety
Department. The sign above the display also noted that the rider had
only recently obtained his license.

What makes this even more tragic is the fact that there is one less RC30 now :(
:hmmm: :headshake :headshake :headshake

It would have been tragic if the bike was run over by a paving machine or so ... the loss of life and the stupidity of the Bike's rider are far outweighing that.

Absolute top speed on Swedish highways, is 110 km/h (~67 m/h)
Absolute top speed, on other roads, is 90 km/h (~55 m/h)

So the bike rider absolutely asked for it and got served plenty.
Too bad he didn't run into a cement truck or so ...

I am not opposed to going fast in car or bike ... in fact I love going way over 250km/h on the Autobahn ... but it is allowed to go that fast there and there are NO intersections.
200 kph on an 85cc dirt track bike??? :hammer:

The 80cc road racers were maybe going that fast ... where are the straights that'll allow you to accelerate that long on a dirt track?

Excuse me if that sounds ignorant, but I've seen too much BS about Power and Speed to just believe this bit ...
