+ this thread does not have a lot of replies, BUT very, very useful. I think the next most useful thing would be instructions on how to bang 3 playboy models at one time. But thats just my IMO

I have an '07 525 exc and followed skully's directions and it worked perfectly. you have to unplug the 3 prong from the speedo not the 2 prong. I changed from 21" (2205mm) to 17" (1860mm) then plugged it back in and it worked. I was told by numerous people it could not be done. even ktm people but it can if you follow skully's directions. thanks.

anyone knows how to change this on a 09 690 bike?

i would assume its the same as our 690 SMC's, 1870
Hi all,

yesterday a replaced my 09 690SMC with a 690E.
in the 08\09 the original speedo was defected and water entered, it was replaced in a factory recall.
After it was replaced it was not set to the 21's and now my speedo is way off.

how can i set this on the 690?

Thanks,
Shay

Dear Mr. Jones

You are lying, or you are an idiot. Your choice.

I read in one of my searches to hold the "mode" button for 10 seconds to access the change menu...it didn't work for me gonna try to disconnect the speedo harness tomorrow and try that method next..

It's not in this post but.....I'm 99% positive you have to disconnect the speedo from the battery. It will be one of the connectors to the speedo, then scroll to the odo, then press and hold mode....WS should appear.

As mentioned earlier 1880 is standard for 17's, however I am using 1847 and am really close to my GPS. Checking with a GPS is the only way to be sure your not 3-5mph off!

Thanks I'll give it shot later.....I was able to do it w/my 450 exc a few years ago but forgot how !!

1870 is what mine shows and it reads just about 2 mph fast as compared to the GPS..

I know this is a super old thread, but I just had to change the wheel size settings on my '05 525 EXC, and found it very usefull. I actually used Skully's directions, but with a twist. I didn't even have to unplug the 3-pin connector in the back of the speedo.
I started with the speedo/hours showing on the display. Then held the Menu button for about 10 sec. The dis[lay willflash with all the settings including TR1,TR2,A1, [email protected], KMH,MPH,WS, etc. Scroll thru with the O button till it gets to the WS option (last one). Then hold the + button until your WS comes up. (either 2250, 1860, or some other 4 digit #). then hold either the + or - button to change the value. I set mine for 1860 because it's about the median for what people with 17s are running.
Hope this helps.

Worked on my 2013 Husaberg 501 too. I measured my tyre circumference at 1845mm by marking the front tyre and ground in the same spot, roll backwards (so bike isn't in the way when measuring) until the mark on tyre has made full revolution then mark ground again and measure in millimeters, then enter that value. My tyres are Pirelli Diablo 120/70 17inch.
