KTM 450SX CDI on KTM 560 SMR - is that a problem?
My KTM 450 bike was partly rebuilt from 450sx to KTM 560 SMR.
I have noticed that bike still have the same CDI unit, when I started looking at options of aftermarket CDI to lower the rev limiter.
CDI part number on my 560 is 59039031400 while it should be 59039031700.

Only problem I have experienced is that it doesn't run clean on high RPMs. I improved, but not solved this by moving the needle in carburetor.

I think the 450 CDI was a “mod” back in the day. Partially to raise the limit.
Maybe the electronic limit is higher than the bike wants to rev for other reasons?

I doubt the ignition is causing the “lack of cleanness“

Good luck.
