i'll stick to the 380 parts are easily available from ktm and this thing friggin shifts enough for me!

not had much time to continue work on the 380 but its nearly finished, had to replace all the kick start mech
as it bent the spring and broke some internal components, quick call to ktm and all parts in stock and had them the next day
fantastic service...

few jobs left to do including mounting the front brake, i'm making my own mount, not paying 100 quid for a bit of alloy

i'll get some more pics up later to show you how she looks and rides

White carbon? What do you mean white carbon? I'm not good with the designing of stuff :/ I think it looks sweet as it stands.

Looking gooood....

I was curious when I read about the white carbon as well. Do you mean like the same carbon fibre pattern, just with white instead of black? If you can post a picture of the pattern I will see if I can do a mockup. I already have a Photoshop template setup from when I did mockups for my 380 build.

ratman - there will be a custom mount made.

hi m8, yeah just 3d vinyl in white would be nice an easy to wrap as panels dont have to many bends, ive included a pic if you can mock it up that would be superb
i am running 2005 panels and tank as you can see, tank would need to be black as well im thinking

ratman yes i made a custom bracket out of steel, will get a pic up asap

how did you mount the front caliper to work with the bigger disc?

here is a pic of the bracket i made, not the nicest looking but works superb, made from 6mm steel plate
the brakes are excellent now even with stock caliper

Ive used my ryobi VSR drill with almost acceptable results. You really need a bench grinder like the one EZ has. Itll save alot of headache. Something has to be stationary. Be it the part being polished, or the tool doing to polishing. Clamping a brake lever in a bench vise is not exactly condusive to what youre trying to accomplish in the first place. Lol.

Ive used dual action (orbital) sanders, with 600gr to get the part smooth first. Thats for badly pitted/cast stuff though. You want s pretty smooth substrate when you start polishing. The mop/emory dont cut that fast.

got to sort jetting out now, as most 380 owners know jetting these bike is a headache, i got it nearly there, but think i need a larger pilot
as revs hang when i ride the bike and brake hard, bit annoying, what do you 2t specialists think?

White Carbon

Hmmm... the white carbon looks interesting. Never seen anything like that before. Do you think the textured surface would be any more likely to catch dirt?

I just went ahead and did a quick mockup using the template I already had setup - hopefully you've got a good imagination!
At least this should help give you an idea of the look (although carbon patterns are really difficult to simulate realistically on a photo like this).

Your 380 is looking really good... looking at the photos I just noticed that the cylinder and head aren't painted? Is there any particular reason for that? Or you just didn't want to? I've been thinking about painting my engine in black wrinkle coat (if it needs to come apart, I will only do it if I can do all the cases separately, but if the engine is good I'll just leave it).
