I received a letter via snail mail today stating that Kawasaki had a recall on the 2009-2010 KLX250 regarding safety issues with the fuel tank. Apparently on some units the fuel tank could leak from cracks at the spot weld(s) on the side mount tabs due to stress caused by excessive clearance between the fuel tank and a frame-mounted rubber damper. Fuel leakage in the presence of spark or flame could cause a fire or injury...

Anyone experienced or noticed this problem?

Dealers will correct the problem for no change. Inspect first and then repair or replace if necessary.
