2005 SEASON OPENER AT OREGON STATE FAIRGROUNDS

Round 1 of the 2005 Gene Romero’s West Coast Flat Track Series begins with an indoor clay short track, Saturday night, February 26th at the New Pavilion located on the Oregon State Fairgrounds, Salem, Oregon. The New Pavilion completed in August of 2004 accommodates over 5,000 fans, hosting such events as MX, Concerts and Monster Truck shows. This will be the first time for Flat Track Motorcycles inside the New Pavilion with the first annual West Coast Flat Track Series, Salem Shoot Out. Entry forms for this event can be downloaded from the www.WCFTS.com web site.

Cycle Country Honda Suzuki of Salem, Oregon is the presenting sponsor of this inaugural event. Bob Leach of Cottage Grove Speedway co-producer of the Salem Shoot Out has taken great lengths to accommodate the requests of the West Coast Flat Track Series in making this a successful event. Bob understands what the participants want in a racing surface as he produces Motorcycle and Outlaw Kart events at another site on the fairgrounds. Rave reviews have come from riders who have competed on Bob’s track saying the racing surface is as good if not better than that of Del Mar short track. This same material will be imported into the New Pavilion for this inaugural event.

This is the kind of thing that we need once a month with a supermoto class.
