I have got a Pirelli soft front slick (new) I want to run my excellent condition takeoff on the rear... the rear is a Pirelli Super Corsa/dragon.... "SC2", Is the SC2 going to be too hard for the rear unless its like 80 degrees out, or can I run that thing in like 60 degree temp with a low pressure of about 20 psi ???? or should I toss it and buy a sc1 or maybe even buy a slick.....I'm concerned about rear tires that get so hot they get greasy and of coarse too cold would'nt work either........ is greasy OK.... any advice I would really appreciate !!!

My experience with the SC2 yellow Pirelli leads me to believe that even in 100+ degree temps it would be too hard for a motard. It is designed for endurance racing- a Pirelli rep told me before that the tire doesn't even reach its optimum temp on a road race bike until around the 1 hour mark. The tire has very little side grip, you'd be better off going with the blue or green, even if they are worn out they'll still have more grip than the yellow will brand new. Hope that helps a little. Let me know what you think if you end up trying the SC2.

The SC2 is the medium compound...the yellow dot is the hard compound. I've never run the SC2 outside of roadracing, but I'd imagine that lowering the pressure on a supermoto bike would at least give you the same characteristics as a medium compound on a road bike (or as close as you can get when running it on a supermoto).
