i have a 2002 Husaberg FX470e with a normal street title that you might be able to get plated. it would need converted to 17sbut would make an awesome starting point.

also have a 2002 Husqvarna 570 already done. it could be plated as well

I'm in SW Iowa, near Omaha Nebraska, but work at a dealership and could assist in shipping

Why don't you get a DRZ400SM?

It ain't the best but legal and bulletproof.

If you rev it to 5000 rpm in first and throw the clutch it might even wheelie :D

Your right I need to be more specific.

I'm looking fo a street legal in CA supermoto, which means it has to be plated from the factory, or converted to dual sport status in california before they changed the law. My price range is in the 4-5k area, we'll find out how much I can spend once I settle with my insurance company over my stolen DRZ.

I'm not oposed to another DRZ, but I thought I'd take the chance to try something new. Ideally I'd like a 400-450cc bike but I'll look at bigger bikes. I'll also look at dual sports that have yet to be converted.

I guess when it comes down to it my ideal bikes to get offers on would be any of the yz/WR400+ bikes, a CRF450, husky smr450 or some type of KTM 400+.

I hope this helps anyone who I frustrated with my posting.

street legal smr

Hey bro, you need to check out KPRacing smr 450. it is for sale on HERE!!!!!It is in cali, and the title says motorcycle( mine does anyway) and even if you are the one who has to get it all goin with the signals etc, you shouldnt have any problem with the inspection or dmv. The new law is really crunching on titles that say for offroad use only(my cr250 and mycrf450). I think (although i am not positive) the smr husky is street legal from the showroom and Klaus just didnt register it........... that is going to be much more practical for your price range and my husky is way sweeter than a drz, brake components, style, power, weight, blah blah. The last street legal cal plated 04 crf i saw was going for 7500 without any 17s etc just BECAUSE it was plated so unless you want a beat 400f or an outdated 426, the husky or a newer ktm is gonna be about the only way you are gonna pull it off. Better get up around 5K too, you get what you pay for.......i found mine on craigslist in san francisco....... alot of street motarders in the big city. You better just wait until you have cash in hand because i was lucky enough to have the guy hold it for me first and i bought it the next day.......they just go QUICK! :arsenal

How bout a Lc4 SM?

These are a much better street bike, and a lot more performance oriented that a Duke (certainly more thatn a DRZ and it's factory street legal so, no worries about Cali. legal). I'm selling this 04 SMC with just over 300 miles, for 6300.00. It's in Oregon and it would cost you nothing to get it delivered most of the way to you. (San Diego right?)

I have a 2002 Husqvarna smr 570 ready to race with new plastics, brembo radial mounted front brake, 17X3.50 in front and 17X4.25 in rear. It has a Dunlop 208 like new tire on front and a dunlop slick on the rear. Also has marzocchi 48mm forks and the mx forks, mx front and back tires with high performance exhaust and stock exhaust as well. everything to make back into a motorcross bike included. Would like 6,000 obo 805-464-9009

hey ian, buy mine. black with yosh/3x3/jet kit/edge taillight for $4999. CA plate, won't have to touch a wrench to it for another 13k miles. ok for you $4998 :twofinger

why do you want a track bike for the street? provided a drz or dr650 or xr etc could currently spank you on the street, what's the point in getting a maintenance heavy bike? There's still plenty of speed to be found in bulletproof bikes.

if i were you i'd either buy my drz or a smc625. i can't wait to try malcolm's dr650 with 17's. there's a bike that looks shitty on paper that makes a RULING street freeway bombing motard.

i'll call you when my hand is better and my xt is motarded for some firetrail action. that xt is gonna rule that road!

faster in a straight line does not equal "more performance oriented". I've owned a lc4 and a drz and can cut faster lap times on the drz. that said, the smc is a smokin cool street bike.
